Simple tasty recipes for your aperitif

Many of us only mainly think of almonds as a good ingredient in the preparation of sweets, biscuits and cakes.
Next to this traditional use of almonds we offer you a tasty novelty! We discovered how delicious they can be as an aperitif or appetizer, accompanied by a good wine or a craft beer.

Here are some easy recipes to prepare at home with almonds and spices.

The basic ingredients

400 g shelled and / or peeled almonds
1 egg white
salt to taste
a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil

Now choose one or more flavors according to the spices you prefer.

Mediterranean taste

1 teaspoon of mixed thyme, rosemary, oregano, plus dried sage and basil

Ginger taste

pepper
1/2 teaspoon of mixed cinnamon, ginger powder, cardamom and nutmeg

Lively taste

A tip of a teaspoon of hot chili pepper
1/2 teaspoon of sweet paprika

Turmeric flavor

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric

Indian taste

1/2 teaspoon of masala or curry

Preparation:

Mix the egg white with a fork, add the almonds to the egg white and mix so that the egg white is evenly distributed between the almonds. Add the chosen spices, add the salt, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and bake in the oven.

Toast the seasoned almonds at 140 ° -160 ° for 15-20 minutes depending on the oven. We suggest mixing the almonds halfway through cooking to prevent them from sticking together.

Let the almonds cool down and … have a good aperitif!
